Vishansar Lake

Vishansar Lake is a beautiful high altitude alpine lake located at an elevation of 3710 meters. This lake has a maximum length of 1 km and maximum width of 0.6 km. The tourists need to undertake trekking on foot or pony to reach the lake. Just 20 km away from Sonmarg, Vishansar Lake is home to Brown Trout. The months of June to September are the best time to visit the lake. While the lake remains frozen during winter season, summer season is characterized by green lush meadows in the surrounding areas.
