SanasarSanasar is an unspoilt rural village located on 17 km west of Patnitop. Sanasar is a name given to the two small local villages of 'Sana' and 'Sar' in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. At an elevation of 2050 meters, Sanasar is picturesque cup shaped meadow, which is surrounded by dense coniferous trees. It is a hub for adventure activities like paragliding, trekking, golfing and camping. Far away from havoc of civilization, Sanasar is an ideal rural holiday destination for those who are keen on spending a quiet and peaceful holiday. The months of May-June and September- October are the best time to visit Sanasar. In Sanasar, winters are too freezing and temperature may dip below freezing point. It is advisable to carry light woolens during summer as nights are bit chilly. |

WHERE TO STAY IN SANASAR? Sanasar being an unexplored and remote area has only J&KTDC's tourist's bungalows and self contained huts. These are well equipped with basic modern amenities and good services. However, power cuts, poor mobile network coverage, lack of telephone and internet facilities are the major hurdles for the tourist's inflow in Sanasar hotels. At a distance of 17 km from Sanasar, Patnitop offers far better amenities and accommodation facilities. As a result, accommodation in Patnitop is more expensive than the hotels in Sanasar. Thus, tourists mostly prefer to make excursion trip to Sanasar. In Sanasar hotels, a tourist would have to pay around Rs.400 to 1000 for a double room per night. ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES IN SANASAR
Sanasar is a perfect destination for eco-adventure activities. Paragliding in Sansar is a popular adventure activity among the tourists. Here, tourists mostly find tandem hand glider joy ride being operated by Extreme Himalayan Adventure. They have a team of experienced and professional gliders who guides the tourists on gliding and landing technique well before takeoff. One can either take glide in a Parachute with a pilot or can go solo. Short flights in Sanasar attain the altitude of 150-200 feet for the duration of one or two minute. These short flights operated in Sanasar (Take off)-Kud (Landing) are considered to be the safest and enjoyable paragliding experience in India. The Nathatop is the high flying site that offers flights of 8 to 10 minute durations depending on the wind condition, which attains height upto 1500-2000 feet.
